Lewisham Council is providing match funding to not-for-profit organisations  


Applications are now open for the Young Londoners Fund and the Sport Unites Small Grants Fund.

Application deadline: 12 noon, Monday 9 July 2018

The Bright Ideas Fund supports new community business ideas through the start up and planning stages with tailored business support, to the implementation stage with grants of up to £15,000. The Fund will re-open on 26 June!

Small and Faith Fund 2018–19

Applications are now open for Lewisham Council's Small and Faith Fund 2018–19,  with a total of £100,000 to give to community projects. 

Culture Seeds - Now open for applications

Culture Seeds is part of the Mayor of London’s draft Strategy for Culture, Culture for all Londoners.
The new grants will be used to support community-led cultural projects in every London borough.

Lewisham Council ran two workshops on 27th November 2017.
These provided an opportunity for Lewisham organisations to find out more about how crowdfunding can assist the development of their initiatives. 
The workshops gave a chance to:

Lewisham Council has extended the deadline for its £100,000 Small and faith funding pot, currently being run as a match funding initiative through Crowdfunder.

London Catalyst and the Hospital Saturday Fund have come together to launch the 2017 Partners for health grant programme.

Major London funders Trust for London and City Bridge Trust have joined forces with the Social Innovation Partnership to launch a new £100,000 fund available to organisations using crowdfunding to raise funds for projects tackling poverty and inequality.

Friday 16 December 2016 is the date the government has set for Local Charities Day, which aims to celebrate small, local charities and community groups in the spotlight.


On 28 September Esmée Fairbairn Foundation launched a new funding pot of £200,000 to support crowdfunding projects in Lewisham, Hull and Manchester.

The consultation on London Borough of Lewisham’s proposed main grants programme for 2017-18, launched last Thursday, is the latest indicator of further financial turmoil for the sector.

The Mayor of London and the GLA are launching their third round of crowdfunding with Spacehive, with up to £20k available to each project.

The Community Development Foundation (CDF) has announced that it is to close in March 2016. As the leading national organisation in community development and engagement CDF supports a range of businesses, trusts and foundations to deliver their grants programmes.
