Safeguarding children for faith groups
We successfully met and exceeded our target, with a total of 156 participants and an estimated cascade to a further 1,125 individuals benefiting from the training. We followed up with a 10% sample of participants, three to six months after training:
- 70% said feel more confident/clearer about the CAF (Common Assessment Framework) and how to use it
- 70% said they are more confident to make a referral to CSC if necessary
- 80% had updated, written, or produced a safeguarding policy
- 100% said the training/support helped them improve their practice, changed behaviour, attitude, thinking, processes, how they view and listen to children and young people.
A quarter of those surveyed also said they wanted support around adult safeguarding. We are currently working with the Adult Safeguarding Board and will be looking to offer support in this area going forward.
