State of the sector survey

23 May 2016

Ahead of more financial upheaval for the voluntary and community sector in 2017, VAL is gathering information from local organisations about the issues they are facing and the services they provide.

This information will help us to get a baseline snapshot of the sector and gauge the readiness for the future and main difficulties faced. We are also looking to update our data on services, governance, staffing, finance and income generation.

The survey comes at a crucial time, as Lewisham Council consults on reductions to funding to its main grants programme from 1 April 2017. It forms an important strand of our response, which will also offer opportunities to strengthen the voice of the sector as well as helping organisations to remain sustainable and plan for the future.

We'll be reporting back on findings of the survey and using it to help raise the profile of the sector.
