The Charity Commission has guidance for charities on how to manage conflicts of interests. Trustees have a legal duty to act in the best interest of the charity and so if a decision mght be influenced by personal or other connected issues a conflict will arise. These can take many forms, but there are additional legal requirements for matters involving payments or benefits to trustees.
