Horniman Museum Community Fieldworkers Project

02 Sep 2013

Calling all creative individuals with a curiosity about the world we humans live in!

The Horniman is looking for 24 South Londoners aged 16 and over to take part in the Community Fieldworkers Project during October to December 2013.

What will happen?  Over 6 weeks, each Fieldworker will receive 18 postcards in the post each showing an object from the museum. Your brief is to use one or more of these objects as inspiration to make something, investigate or tell a story.  There is no right answer, and the work you do will help the museum in its research about what objects mean to local people.

Do I need to know about museums? No you don’t. There will be two fun training days where you get to handle museum objects, learn about anthropology and meet others on the project.

Do I need to pay? Taking part is free. The Horniman will pay your expenses to get you started. Taking part is free. The Horniman will pay your expenses to get you started. To find out more contact Horniman Community Learning on 0208 291 8690 or e-mail: communitylearning@horniman.ac.uk
