Change in Service provider for the Carer Information, Advice and Support (IAS) Service (April 2019)

02 Apr 2019

Service provider for the Carer Information, Advice and Support (IAS) Service

The Carer IAS Service provides emotional and practical support to carers through information and advice, signposting, outreach in the community, support to professionals in primary care and other settings.

The Service will also aim to mobilise more community-based support through adult volunteers.

Many VAL members may know that the Carers IAS Service has been managed by Carers Lewisham.
From 1 April 2019, the Carer IAS Service will be managed by Your Voice in Health and Social Care (YVHSC) using the following contact details:

Telephone:     020 3886 0970
Web:               https://www.helpingcarersinlewisham.org.uk
Email:             info@helpingcarersinlewisham.org.uk

Carers Lewisham will continue to have a presence in the borough.  They will continue to support carers from their base at Forest Hill,
through a Working for Carers project, a Dementia Project (jointly with Bromley and Lewisham Mind), support to young carers and
counselling sessions for adult carers.  They will also provide a programme of weekday group activities and may add further carer-related services, over time.

If you have any questions about these planned changes please call Faith Abiola-Ellison on 020 8314 6009 or email her on f.abiola-ellison@nhs.net
