Insurance for voluntary and community organisations
Responsibility of trustees
Trustees have a duty of care to protect both the people involved with the charity and its assets – money, property, vehicles, furniture, equipment and computers. Trustees are ultimately responsible for managing risks to the charity and they should periodically review what insurance is currently required. Systems are also needed to ensure that new additions are added to the policy and that the policy is checked when new areas of work are taken on.
