Brockley Max is a not-for-profit festival put on by local people for local people, so it can’t happen without your help! We’re looking for volunteers to be part of Brockley Max 2018; to see a different side of the festival; to use your skills, be part of a great team, try something new and be involved in your local community. You’ll be contributing your time to help make the festival run smoothly, for example, by handing out programmes, setting up events, being a festival ambassador or raising funds. You’ll be a essential part of Brockley Max, helping create a special atmosphere, perfect for those looking for work experience or to meet new people.

Mindful Mums Volunteer Facilitators (Bromley and Lewisham boroughs)
We are seeking volunteers to co-facilitate resilience sessions to help mums stay emotionally well, develop confidence and social connections during pregnancy, birth or first year post-birth periods (this is often called the perinatal period). We ask that you: have good communication skills, have personal experience of managing your own mental health difficulties during pregnancy or as a new mum, are willing to talk from your own experience in an appropriate way.
Family Action – Sow and Grow Volunteer
Lewisham Supported Housing offers a two year move on - accommodation based support service that supports adults experiencing mental health issues to rebuild their lives and move on to independent living.
The Volunteer Sow & Grow Coordinator will volunteer for a minimum of half a day per week for a minimum of 6 months.
The Volunteer Sow & Grow Coordinator will meet with service users weekly and will support service users to co-produce Sow & Grow sessions, develop, deliver and evaluate Sow and Grow sessions with service users, ensure gardening equipment is stored and maintained safely, support service users to understand all safety requirements with gardening.

Fare Share – Various Roles
FareShare London redistributes surplus food to charities and community groups across the capital, who turn it into meals for vulnerable people. We operate a warehouse in Deptford, South East London, where we sort and store surplus food and then deliver it on our vans to our member charities and community groups across London.
Volunteering opportunities in:
Customer Services: We need people to work directly with our database to create food orders for our charities and community groups. This may include chatting to charities directly to discuss their orders.
Delivery Assistant Volunteer: This role is vital to the work of FareShare, ensuring that food is safely delivered to charities or collected from our food suppliers. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys getting out and about in London, someone looking to gain experience in the food industry, warehousing and customer service and/or someone just wanting to help.
Delivery Driver: Safely driving vans around London to deliver and collect food. Carrying out routine checks on the vans, taking responsibility for the vans throughout the day and reporting accidents or damage to the van or other vehicles. Completing all relevant paperwork. Planning routes, sorting food, picking orders, loading and unloading vans. Assist in the maintenance of the vans including cleaning.
Warehouse Volunteer: Ensuring food quality and safety by checking ‘use by’ and ‘best before’ dates. Categorising and recording food. Assembling food orders placed by charity and community groups. Maintaining health and safety and food hygiene during your sessions. Helping with cleaning and other tasks as identified by warehouse staff.

Entelechy Arts - Volunteer at the Southbank Centre
Summer 2018 is kicking off in a spectacular way at Entelechy Arts. We have been commissioned by Southbank Centre to contribute to their (B)old Festival on the 19th and 20th May
(B)old will be an exciting opportunity for Entelechy to showcase one of our groundbreaking 21st Century Tea Dances together with performances of BED , the street performance event created by members of our elders company. More information about the festival can be found here:
We are looking for volunteers to help support on Saturday the 19th of May from 10 am-5pm on site at the Southbank. Food and transport expenses will be covered on the day.There will training on site at the Southbank centre on the afternoon of the 17th of May. All of the volunteer attending will be invited to join us for food after the training
New Roots Community Group are a community group from London who have come together with the common goal of making a positive impact in the local community. The New Roots Growth workshops is a cultural enrichment holiday club where children are encouraged to develop their self-esteem, morals and social inclusion.

Walk the Walk London – 12th – 13th May 2018
We are looking for dedicated, amazing volunteers to support us at The MoonWalk London – 15,000 women and men walking either a full or half marathon in their fantastically decorated bras, raising money and awareness for breast cancer…quite a sight to behold!!
Evening Event Crew - The pre-challenge party is roughly 5pm through to midnight on Saturday 12th May based in our walker’s village, MoonWalk City.
Are you a people person that is the life and soul of every party? Welcome our walkers at the Entrance Gate, answering walker queries in our Directional Team or get hands on in Tattoos & Balloons!
Are you an unsung hero that prefers something a little less lively? Prepare fruit for the walkers in the Kitchen, keep MoonWalk City tidy with the Clean & Recycle Team or distribute essential kit to our Volunteer Crew on the Volunteer Tent Equipment Desk!

Artist Liaison (AL) - The artist liaison is the go between for the artists performing at the festival, and the festival.
Bar and Catering Volunteers - Spend a day showing off your bartending skills at the Crystal Palace Festival, make lots of friends and enjoy all that the festival has to offer.
Festival Stewards - Being eyes and ears for the festival, and reporting an issues to the area or volunteer manager our prime objective will be to assist with the delivery of an enjoyable and safe experience for all festival attendees.
Volunteer Fundraisers - Spend a day roaming the park, enjoying the festival while carrying out this invaluable role. Collecting donations from festival attendees by shaking buckets. Encouraging attendees to contribute if they can afford it. Being helpful to festival attendees by giving out information and directions. Assisting other teams if necessary.

Crossroads Care – Various Roles
Volunteer Befrienders - Crossroads Care South East London run a Volunteer Befriending Service which is aimed at Carers, former Carers and isolated older people who are not in receipt of funded services and who live in Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham. By becoming a Volunteer Befriender you will help to reduce someone’s social isolation and improve their health and well-being by providing social contact, emotional and practical support. You will also be involved in supporting someone to access community opportunities in sports, leisure, culture, faith and education

Vietnamese Women’s Group
English and Maths Tutor: Vietnamese Supplementary School (Viet School) is looking for English and Maths Tutors to give informal English and Maths lessons to children ages 6-17 year old with Vietnamese background.
Our Sunday school runs term time, the classes are open to all children ages 6-17 year old. They are split into groups based on their ages and you will be able to pick an age group you would like to teach. As these classes are not in formal setting we encourage you to teach the subjects in an informal, fun and creative way e.g. games, activities and crafts and we are open for any suggestions to make these sessions interesting and engaging.
Admin Support, Home for Good Project: Home for Good was developed to provide ongoing support to formerly homeless people who have been resettled into their own accommodation. Through the involvement of volunteers, the service empowers people to sustain their tenancies and to settle into what will be their new community. We’re looking for a friendly and dedicated volunteer with good IT skills (in particular with a good grasp of Excel) to support the work of the Home for Good team.
This role is based in our office in Victoria.
Home for Good, Community Volunteer
Home for Good is a volunteer-powered, London-wide befriending project. You will be matched with a client with the aim of assisting them to get to know their local area and link into local community services, providing reliable, regular and sustained contact. Encouraging the achievement of personal goals, participating in activities of interest to the client and empowering them to continue independently.
Our volunteers provide bespoke support to vulnerable and formerly homeless clients who have been resettled into their own accommodation, and/or are facing isolation.
The purpose of the service is to empower people to establish connections and thrive in what will often be a new community for them. If you want to make a lasting difference to someone’s life then this is an opportunity for you.

Scout Leader/Assistant Scout Leader: To help run a programme of activities for boys and girls aged 6-18. Activities include, outdoor activities, Climbing, archery, camping, making things, new experiences, meeting people, supporting the community, trips out, international trips and much more.

Pre-School Learning Alliance, Lewisham
Children’s Centre Reception/Admin Volunteer - To support the receptionist in providing a friendly and accessible service to families and children
Pre-School Assistant - We are looking for patient and knowledgeable volunteers to support our staff working with children aged between 2 and 5 years. Tasks will include :- Help setting up the room and garden areas, Supporting Children with their play indoors and outdoors, Sit with Children at snack times and encourage eating with social skills, Reading stories with a group of children and helping with the day to day development of the children in the Pre-School.
Perry Vale Assembly – Lark in the Park
Perry Vale Assembly would like to recruit a couple of volunteers for our summer festival “Lark in the Park” on 30th June. The event is a popular community festival taking place from 12 – 4 pm on Saturday 30th June. We’d need people to be there from 10 am to about 4.30 pm.
We would be looking for 2 – 4 people who are free on 30th June and can attend a briefing in the week previous.
IRIE! Dance Theatre
“Active You” Volunteer: Active You' is a funded programme of dance sessions we will be delivering in The Moonshot Centre over the summer providing a gentle introduction to physical activity for young people and adults in the community who are less active and interested in a gentle introduction to positive health.
We are looking for 4 volunteers to work with our Dance Tutors and Musicians to support the delivery of dance sessions to the following members of our community: • Seniors • People with Disabilities or limited mobility • Women • Young People.

AGE UK Lewisham & Southwark - Various Roles
Volunteer Driver: Volunteer Drivers are responsible for delivering customers shopping from the supermarkets to their homes in a small Food2You van. You will be responsible for packing up and unloading the shopping from the van in an organised manner, and may need to assist customers in unpacking their shopping if required. You will be required to undertake very basic van maintenance tasks, all of which you will be fully trained in. You will be accompanied by a Volunteer Delivery Helper at all times, who will be fully trained to support you in all your tasks. You will need enthusiasm and a clean driving license in order to undertake this important role. You will also need to be able to lift shopping bags and boxes into and out of the van.
Food2You Volunteer Delivery Helpers: Volunteer Delivery Helpers will accompany the Volunteer Delivery Drivers as they collect the shopping orders from the supermarket and deliver them to customers’ homes. Volunteer Delivery Helpers will be responsible for liaising with customers, collecting payments for the shopping and explaining any variances in what they have ordered. They will also assist the Delivery Drivers with loading and unloading the van, and where required unpacking their shopping.

Volunteer Admin: The role involves meeting and greeting visitors to the reception area, taking phone messages, signposting members of the public to other services, particularly the Advice Lewisham helpline, data input and other administrative tasks to support the work we do.
Drivers – Full driving license required... a car would be a benefit but not essential.
Minibus Drivers – You will need a full driving license and we will provide accredited minibus training (MIDAS)
Passenger Assistants – supporting minibus passengers, accredited Passenger Assistant Training (PATS) provided.
Mental Health Drop-In Helper - Mental Health Drop-in Helpers will be expected to interact with drop-in members, listen, make them welcome, and engage in friendly conversation. Volunteers will also take part in the drop-in activities and programmes, plus any meetings, training and Supervision sessions. Volunteers, along with drop-in users, will be encouraged to be proactive in the running and development of the drop-in. It is the role of volunteers to encourage members to take an active role in the drop-in.
Drop-in sessions run on Monday and Friday 10am-1pm in Lee & Tuesday and Thursday 1pm-4pm in Deptford

Spontaneous Productions Theatre Company is looking actively to recruit volunteers interested in helping out either 'front of house' or 'backstage.'
The Sydenham-based company also have opportunities as:
- Stage-managers - Help out with props, scenery and costumes during rehearsals and/or performances. Minimum commitment: 2-3 hrs a week.
- Lighting/sound technicians – Prior experience and skills essential. We are always looking for 'techies'.
- Front of House/Box office - We always need help selling tickets and programmes, and assisting audiences in and out of the auditorium, setting out/clearing away seating etc.

Volunteers are not expected to be available on all dates and at all times. But we do expect volunteers who have agreed to help out on a particular event to be punctual and stay for the allotted time period.
