Lewisham Changemakers launch a great success!
Lewisham Changemakers launch and networking at the Mulberry Centre
The launch and networking event led by co-creators Kareem Dayes of Lewisham Homes and our very own Christine Wykes Driver was a resounding success. This informative session encourages social enterprises within Lewisham. These are projects/businesses with social objectives that continue to give back to the community. Kareem and Christine led the session in front of a diverse audience, explaining how the programme’s aim is to give people the tools and support they need to become investment ready.
They were joined by Laurence Higgens from Change Please who gave an inspirational talk showing the model they use to train the homeless as baristas, getting them off the streets and into work by selling their premium coffee. A prime example of a successful social enterprise.
Ending with an extended networking session, the attendees were encouraged to share ideas and experiences.
Lewisham Changemakers are keen to build a network of local changemakers through meetups. An open forum where people can access support and build power.
