Neighbourhood Engagement Project

Our Neigbourhood Engagement Project no longer exists.  However we have outlined the areas of work the Project focused on:

  1. Local Assemblies, one for each ward, were established in 2008, providing an opportunity for people to have a greater say about the local area in which they live or work. Our project worked with selected Local Assemblies and voluntary and community organisations to create good communication, understanding and opportunities to work together for the benefit of the area.
  2. Neighbourhood collaboration was one of the development programmes in the Lewisham Change Up Development plan. It aim was to promote collaborative partnerships and projects on a neighbourhood basis. This may include developing joint funding bids, Joint services and/or the greater sharing of resources such as IT and back office functions.

In brief, the project looked to empower groups.
