Short-term lease opportunity in Deptford High St

10 Mar 2017 Lewisham news

Lewisham Council is looking for social entrepreneurs, community and cultural organisations to take on a short-term lease in Deptford.

They are looking for the right people to take on a three-year shop leasehold, which includes a basement space, at 28 Deptford High Street.

The recently refurbished property includes a self-contained ground floor and basement area and accessible disabled toilet. A new high-quality traditional style shop front will be installed in coming months.

The Council is seeking to let the premises to an occupant who will strengthen the cultural and/ or economic vibrancy and promote growth of Deptford High Streets and environs. They are particularly keen on a strong public facing element, such as a shop, café, gallery or art space, events space, advice centres that would help draw in people and boost trading.

Rent is negotiable with particular regard to the social, economic or environmental benefits demonstrated. A rent free period, to offset in part an agreed internal fit out, may be acceptable to the Council.

Vewings of the shop will be held on Tuesday 21 March and Thursday 23 March 2017 by appointment only.

Deadline for expressions of interest is Monday 31 March 2017.
