Work on this issue continues.  Unfortunately, the second of the two consultation meetings had to be cancelled. However, a further meeting has now been arranged for Monday 18th May, 7.00-9.00pm at the Civic Suite (Room 4).

This will not now be a repeat of the first event, as originally planned. Instead, it will be used to consult on specific proposals, to be decided by VAL’s Executive Committee on 26th May. Views expressed at the first consultation event on 20th April have been taken into account in drawing up these proposals, covering

• the structure/format of VCS representation on the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP)
• the election process
• length of time reps will serve on the LSP
• how to provide better support for reps on all Partnership Boards
• how to improve communication, giving everyone in the sector more opportunity to be kept informed and to express views.

The Stronger Communities Partnership Board will also be discussing these proposals at their meeting on 13th May.
