Dear Colleagues,

You are invited to the next Children and Young People Forum, entitled ‘Supporting and Safeguarding children and young people in Lewisham’, which will be on Tuesday 1st November, 9.30 – 1pm. It will be held in the Main Hall, St Laurence Centre, 37 Bromley Rd, in Catford.

The Forum will be hearing from Fenella Beckman, the Strategic Partnership Manager for Lewisham Council, on how the VCS can support and take forward the recommendations of the Mayor of Lewisham’s Youth Task Force recommendations. Also we will be revisiting the speeddater session for national and local organisations to come together to discuss the possibility of forming consortiums in preparation for the Early Intervention Service commissioning process, which will be starting in January next year. Finally there will be a joint presentation by Angie Jones, Communications and Publicity chair for Lewisham Safeguarding Children’s Board, and Pauline Kennedy, VCS representative for the LSCB, on opportunities for VCS groups to become safeguarding champions.
