City Parochial Foundation and the New Policy Institute have produced a website with details of research into levels of poverty, inequality and social exclusion in London. The information is designed to help organsations make stronger funding applications by giving them some of the information they need to show the level of need locally.

The worse indicators for Lewisham are:
- Teenage Pregnancies (one of the five highest local authorities in England)
- Working age adults receiving out of work benefits
- Working age adults lacking work
- Low paid jobs
