Dear Member

London Voluntary Sector Council are compiling a database of all voluntary organisations delivering public health services.

The idea is that public health and GP-led commissioners will then be able to either signpost or commission services.

If you do deliver public health services, could you please fill in the questionnaire (see bottom of page) by the end of March and send it back to Sandra at LVSC at : sandra@lvsc.org.uk

(and if possible, copy me in at: mark@valewisham.org.uk)

Many thanks

Mark

[letter from LVSC]

Dear Colleague,

As you may already know London Voluntary Service Council (LVSC) has been commissioned by the Regional Public Health Group and NHS London to develop a public health database of VCS organisations, in London, that provide public health services to the community.

This database will provide London’s new GP and public health commissioners with the information they need to understand, better, what services are available to commission. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate the impact of your service and improve future funding opportunities.

We have attached one document: PH Database Questionnaire -- a relatively short questionnaire that looks to gather relevant information from your organisation that will be made available on the database.

Please save a copy of the PH Database Questionnaire to your computer so that you can complete it electronically and return it to us by email by the end of March 2011 if at all possible.

LVSC is only able to offer some limited support until the end of March in filling out this questionnaire. You have a greater chance of receiving support if you consider the questionnaire this week and in a return e-mail request support with your contact details. We have two consultants working on this project who will do their best to contact you and provide assistance.

There will be some limited on-going support after March if you are unable to complete the questionnaire by the end of March.

We look forward to promoting your organisation to commissioners and urge you to complete and return the questionnaire.

Kind regards,

Sandra van der Feen

Charges and Contributions to Adult Social Care

Councils across the country are being asked to save money and to consider where changes can be made to the services they provide. In Lewisham, some people who get social care services pay for, or contribute to, the cost of their care and support.  To make sure this is fair, Lewisham Council has rules on how it charges for services and how it calculates the contributions it expects people to make.

The Council is considering changing these rules and asked to hear your views on the different options given in this survey.  These changes could affect people who receive home care, day care, meals on wheels, Linkline and those who choose to have a direct payment.  The consultation closed on 30 November 2010.

Feedback on any decisions made and the results of the consultation will be placed on the Lewisham website www.lewisham.gov.uk .
